The main frieze depicts four quadrigae (four-horse chariots): three racing, one standing. The names in the upper frieze are:
EUTYCHE (Eutychus - 'The Lucky One')
OLYMPE (Olympus)
FARIE (Farienus)
FERIX ('The Wild One') - unusually, for a winner, not the standing driver. He holds a victory palm and wreath.
The lower frieze shows a hunt scene with nine animals set amongst trees.
This is a reproduction of the virtually intact beaker found at Schönecken, Germany, and now in the Rheinisches Landesmuseum Trier. Several other examples from the same mould or archetype are known, from Rouen and Mayence in France as well as several finds in Germany.
