Many examples are known, including complete vessels in the Museum Het Valkhof, Nijmegen, the Netherlands, the Rheinishes Landesmuseum, Trier, Germany, and the Römermuseum Augusta Raurica, Augst, Switzerland.

They date from the 1st and 2nd centuries AD and were typically blue green in colour.

Our reproduction is fitted with a soldered copper ring and strung with leather cords.
